Citrus Little League

Programs

Citrus Little League offers a variety of programs for players throughout the year. Please see the following for a description of each.

Spring Baseball

Spring Baseball is the quintessential Little League Baseball experience. Starting in late February and running through early June, our Spring Baseball program has something for every age group!

All Star Tournaments

There are 5 divisions available for players who are selected to represent Citrus Little League in the Little League All Star Tournaments. Citrus Little League strives to field the best teams possible in all divisions to represent us in All Star play.

  • 8, 9, 10 Year Olds
  • 9, 10, 11 Year Olds
  • Little League (12 and under)
  • Junior (12-14)
  • Senior (13-16)

Summer Sandlot

Little League Baseball does not have to end at the end of Spring Baseball and All Stars. Starting in 2021, Citrus Little League implemented our Summer Sandlot Fun Days. These are unstructured opportunities for our players,  friends, and anyone from the community to come out and have some fun on the diamonds. Typically held on Saturdays during the summer our Sandlot days are a great opportunity to keep baseball coursing through our young player's veins. Please check your email or our social media accounts for information on dates and times.

Winter Ball

Winter Ball starts in early September and runs into November. Winterball is a less competetive season than Spring Ball and focuses on player development. The games are ran much like scrimmages and are organized through our parent organization, Little League District 71.

Tournament Teams

Citrus Little League is entertaining the development of tournament teams to compete against other leagues and teams in our area. We are working with our parent organization, Little League District 71 on this endeavor and hope to have more information available soon.

Divisions

Citrus Little League has a division of play available for players of any age and/or ability. Please see the below divisions for more information:

Tee Ball

Ages 4-7: This is typically a young players introduction to baseball. For more information, please refer to the Little League website's information on Tee Ball at: https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/baseball/divisions/#TeeBall

Rookie

Ages 5-8: The Citrus Little League Rookie Division falls under the Little League Minor Division Coach Pitch regulations and offers a stepping stone between Tee Ball and our Minor Division with players pitching. This is a great division for players who have played Tee Ball for one season or more, but aren't quite ready for player pitch baseball yet.

Minor

Ages 5-11: The Minor Division is a competitive division with players pitching. Players in the Minor Division are eligible (based on age) for tournament play in All Stars.

Major

Ages 9-12: The Major Division is also known as the Little League Baseball Division and is the primary focus of Little League Baseball. Players in the Major Division are eligible for tournament play in the Little League International Tournament which culminates with the Little League World Series. The Major Division teams are selected via a draft with only former Major Division players and 12 year olds being guaranteed a position on a Major Division team.

Junior

Ages 12-14: The Junior Division is for players 12-14 and is played on the 90' diamond (although Citrus is investigating playing on a 80' diamond with 54' pitching distance). Games are typically played with teams from throughout District 71.

Senior

Ages 13-16: Similar to the Junior Division, but for older players League Age 13-16. Games are played  on 90' diamonds with teams from throughout District 71.
